In today’s fast-paced market, manufacturers are driven to produce higher-quality products at a lower cost and with more flexibility than ever before. But companies are finding that the various stages of design and manufacturing are highly interconnected, and it is impossible to transform one without changing the other.
In this webinar, we will cover how the ODB++ standard family can be used to create a digital twin of every part of the product lifestyle, from design, to process engineering, and on to manufacturing. We’ll also take an in-depth look at how ODB++Manufacturing (formerly known as OML) captures a digital twin of the full manufacturing process, feeding real production data back into design improvements.
The webinar will also cover the benefits of using ODB++ Manufacturing. For example, it can be used to:
Support precise control and visibility for planning, resource management, and decision-making.
In the webinar, we’ll also do a demo of a performance dashboard built completely from ODB++Manufacturing events received from manufacturing equipment. We’ll look at a line-level dashboard that shows the main performance KPIs aggregated from the machines on the assembly line, and drill down from the line view to look at the SMT processes and how information is normalized without the need for a special app or interface.
We’ll demonstrate how ODB++Manufacturing events provide detailed data about components used and wasted for each board on each module of the machine, and how this data stream can be utilized by any system in the enterprise. For example, the component usage could be provided to the MES system for traceability, it could be backflushed to the ERP system to relieve the material from stock, or it could be fed to the analytics system and combined with the data from the inspection equipment to provide valuable metrics for supplier quality and yield forecasting.

Oren Manor is the Director of Business Development for the Valor Division of Mentor, a Siemens business, responsible for Valor’s engineering and pre-production tools, partnerships, and OEM engagements. Oren has over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing of embedded and industry software. Previously, he was the global sales and marketing director for Jungo’s embedded connectivity business unit, which was acquired by NDS and Cisco. He was also the vice president, sales and marketing of Signature-IT, a SaaS cloud-based solution for configuring, pricing, and quoting (CPQ) of heavy-industry mechanical products.

Dan Bailey is a Product Manager with Siemens Digital Industries Software, responsible for Siemens Opcenter Electronics IoT. He works with customer-facing teams, partners, marketing, and the wider Siemens product teams and is passionate about understanding and developing product value. Dan has over 20 years’ experience and a strong background in R&D. Before joining Siemens, he spent the first half of his career as part of a global manufacturing systems team at Sony. Dan holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Cardiff University, UK and a Chartered Engineering Registration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Working directly with electronic manufacturing service providers in the medical, aerospace, automotive, and public-safety markets, Zac ensures that key requirements for the smart factory are fulfilled using software and automation. Before joining Siemens, he was responsible for developing and implementing solutions for a global contract electronics manufacturer, providing an in-depth understanding of the market pressures driving Industry 4.0. Recently, Zac has served as a member of the IPC task group working on an industry standard for traceability of critical electronic components.
