Utilizing CFD simulation with rapid turn-around time to optimize drag and vehicle aerodynamics.
Explore hundreds of design variants in a week and accelerate design innovations to meet regulation-driven performance levels
Stricter regulations on emissions and new test procedures put the transportation industry under a lot of pressure to meet performance targets while keeping a competitive edge. The Worldwide harmonized Light vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) introduces a new driving cycle (WLTC), resulting in a higher average and maximum velocity during testing. For this reason, aerodynamics plays a more significant role in testing scenarios. Simulation provides a way to improve aerodynamics earlier in the design cycle allowing vehicle manufacturers to enhance aerodynamic performance before the first physical prototype. But to be successful, the digital wind tunnel results need to be validated.
In this webinar, our experts will focus on how engineers can explore possibilities for optimizing vehicle aerodynamics in rapid turn-around time. They will examine approaches that allow engineers to understand how a vehicle's surface sensitivity impacts the drag value. With the time saved, this makes way for a trade-off study between cooling performance and the vehicle's drag.
During this session, we’ll demonstrate how CFD simulation can help to:
