The data-centric architecture of Capital provides multiple change management capabilities such as tabular & graphical difference reports, version management and compatibility control, plus the capability to capture, store and selectively re-apply changes. It thereby simplifies change management and eliminates many of the time-consuming and error-prone data-entry tasks required with traditional design tools.
‘Right-first-time’ harness designs can be created using rules-based automation and advanced functionality offered by Capital. The powerful data integration interfaces with all major ECAD / MCAD systems enable harness designers to import CAD and related wiring information, supporting error-free and swift data transfer from adjacent solutions.
Capital offers a unique capability to render multiple graphical representations from the same design via configurable graphical styling templates. Using this approach, companies can create a design conforming to consistent in-house standards & styles. The design can also be automatically re-rendered into other required styles, for example OEM engineering drawing, internal engineering drawing and formboard drawing.
A comprehensive set of standard Design-Rule-Checks (DRCs) are provided to validate the final design, to ensure that it meets the customer requirements. Custom DRCs supporting the organization’s IP and documented best-practices can also be easily added.
