Driven by demands including innovative customer features and functional safety requirements, software engineering teams need to increase both the pace of development and improve quality, requiring new levels of efficiency. Enabling software development to ‘shift-left’, by moving verification and validation (V&V) earlier in the design process, is a key element to more efficiently produce embedded software. These V&V activities may be performed by deploying extensive simulation using actual embedded software on virtual ECUs.
