HERZLIA, Israel -- Jan 14, 2004 -- Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. (TCNO), the driving force in Manufacturing Process Management (MPM), announced today that its electronics subsidiary Tecnomatix Unicam has entered into a European-wide partnership agreement with ITOCHU SysTech GmbH, a value-added reseller of production machines and test systems for the electronic and microelectronic industries. ITOCHU SysTech also named Tecnomatix its preferred supplier of testing and repair manufacturing software tools. Continuing a partnership dating back to 1994, Tecnomatix Unicam and ITOCHU will integrate eMPower eM-Test Expert and eM-Repair products with ITOCHU’s Takaya Flying Probe Tester and other test and repair implementations, increasing the presence of eMPower tools among OEM customers across Europe. eM-Test Expert increases productivity and performance by optimizing test and inspection processes. It enables Takaya users to eliminate bottlenecks in their high-volume test processes and speed time to market of their products. eM-Repair is a fully integrated shop-floor repair/data collection system with easy-to-use advanced diagnostic repair and debug capabilities. Integration of eMPower solutions with ITOCHU’s flying probe test equipment provides a comprehensive interface with the latest APT94xx series testers. Users will benefit from advanced capabilities to detect manufacturing defects on printed circuit boards by utilizing the tester’s four high-speed independently moving probes, providing easy-to-access test points, vias, component pads and fine pitch parts -- all without needing a fixture. "Through our partnership with Tecnomatix, Takaya users will be able to build on their integrated test and repair software and take full advantage of eMPower solutions," said Boris Opfer, product manager, ICT sales and technical services, ITOCHU SysTech. "Likewise, Takaya customers will now have a low-cost link between all CAD systems and testers, as well as constantly updated interfaces with the most recent Takaya testers and CAD formats." "As longstanding partners, Tecnomatix and ITOCHU SysTech know how critical it is that we extend the value of electronic manufacturing solutions to our mutual customers," said Israel Levy, chief executive officer of Tecnomatix Unicam. "ITOCHU’s commitment to make Tecnomatix its preferred supplier of test and repair software tools gives our electronics customers maximum software flexibility and best-in-class, multi-vendor capabilities."
