Yulon Motor Company, the leading manufacturer of automobiles and related parts in Taiwan, has selected Tecnomatix (NASDAQ: TCNO) eMPower™ software and services to improve the productivity of its manufacturing operations. Yulon represents a strategic entry to the Taiwanese market for Tecnomatix, extending the company’s presence in the rapidly growing Asia Pacific marketplace. Following an extensive competitive evaluation process, Yulon chose Tecnomatix to support its efforts to accelerate car production cycles and improve efficiency of their production lines. Yulon will employ a full suite of eMPower solutions for process planning, enabling the company to digitally design and validate manufacturing processes in both Body-in-White (BIW) and final assembly operations. Such capability will support Yulon’s focus on throughput and product sequencing to match an increasingly build-to-order economic environment. Yulon will rely on Tecnomatix eMPower solutions to provide a production resource library and API development kit, as well as to perform several functions, including:
- Line balancing and product sequencing
- Final assembly planning, simulation and optimization
- Material flow simulation and visualization
- Robotics simulation
