PLANO, Texas – UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced the availability of Parasolid® version 17.0 (V17.0) software, the latest release of its industry-leading geometric modeling component software. Parasolid V17.0 includes new capabilities for product design and design-for-manufacture, enhanced modeling automation and end-user productivity.

Productivity improving enhancements
Parasolid V17.0 includes significant functional and ease-of-use enhancements in many key areas aimed at improving end-user productivity.
· New techniques in sweeping, lofting and curve and surface reconstruction for enhanced design and representation of free-form shapes
· New ease-of-use features in blend construction, propagation, limiting and overlapping for enhanced filleting across a wide range of configurations
· Automated patterning of blended features and completion of imprints for accelerating complex Boolean operations
· Extended controls for tapering, embossing, offsetting, thickening and face editing operations for increased end-user modeling productivity
With these developments, Parasolid customers are able to continually increase the levels of modeling automation and reliability needed to drive today’s most advanced applications.
