FOR RELEASE Monday, May 8, 2006
PLANO, Texas – UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced it is offering a new solution for PLM reporting and analytics as an integral part of its Teamcenter® software portfolio. The new UGS® offering collects data from a variety of sources and presents the information as knowledge in the form of reports and graphs to support decision making and control of various PLM processes.
The new offering is the result of a marketing and technology agreement with eQ Technologic Inc., the US-based parent of eQ Technologic (India) Pvt. Ltd., that enables UGS to promote and sell the eQube business intelligence and analytics software product as a part of Teamcenter, the world’s most widely used PLM portfolio.
eQube creates “visibility infrastructure” for its customers that provides them with unprecedented visibility in their business processes for informed and timely decisions. eQube has allowed its global customers to dramatically leverage their investments in their Teamcenter (PLM) implementations.
“Teamcenter serves as the digital backbone for the majority of the world’s most sophisticated products, managing and supporting the vast amounts of data associated with their PLM process,” said Steve Bashada, vice president of Teamcenter Applications, UGS. “By tightly integrating the eQube software with Teamcenter we are enabling our customers worldwide to harness that data and turn it into knowledge with a proven solution that helps them control their PLM processes and promotes effective decision making.”
The new Teamcenter reporting and analytics capability works within the business rules and security model of Teamcenter to ensure access integrity. The product provides reporting and graphics that can be printed, exported, emailed or embedded in digital “dashboards” for rapid sharing of knowledge. The product’s advanced infrastructure will allow customers to combine the information in Teamcenter with other data sources to provide complex reporting and analysis for decision making and control of product development and after-sales service.
“eQ Technologic has implemented its eQube solution with UGS’ Teamcenter at several prominent aerospace and defense companies worldwide,” said Dinesh Khaladkar, President and CEO, eQ Technologic. “Our proven customer successes and strong business relationship with UGS serve as the foundation for the new marketing and technology agreement that enables a broader base of customers around the globe to benefit from the combined eQube and Teamcenter solution.”
