Understanding how a component or product assembly reacts under load is critical in any industry. Traditional testing methods relying on a patchwork of point measurements with many strain, displacement and acceleration sensors only provide local information, risk to overlook key phenomena and supply limited feedback when validating simulation models.
 
Our structural testing solution incorporates digital image correlation (DIC) technology which is quickly becoming a trusted instrument for measuring full-field 3D data everywhere at once. A test sample is painted with dots, cameras record how the dots move when loads are applied, and our software correlates these images to accurately produce full-field displacement, strain or acceleration data, easily matched to results of 3D finite element analysis. Engineering departments get access to quantified 3D experimental results, increase the accuracy and reliability of simulation models and can accelerate component and system validation testing for faster and more responsive development cycles.
