Additive manufacturing post-processing

Proven software for post-print operations that are required by additive manufacturing (AM).

Industrialized AM does not end with printing

NX provides a suite of proven solutions for the processing of printed parts, including machining and inspection. Integrating these solutions with capabilities for design and additive manufacturing means the entire 3D printing process, from beginning to end, can be handled within a single system.

Depowdering

Remove powder from your AM processes. We partner with Solukon on a unique, automated depowdering solution that uses multi-axis manipulation and key frequency vibration. The system loosens packed powder and facilitates the ejection of powder from internal channels, vastly reducing the time necessary for this post-process activity.

Machining

Allow the AM process to flow smoothly from printing to post-print processing with no data translations, using the integrated CNC programming tools in NX CAM. Easily take near-net shape parts to their final shape and finish. This includes automating the removal of the part from the build tray, the efficient removal of supports, and performing other post-print operations with NX CAM.

Quality inspection

Use a wide range of integrated inspection and validation tools as the final stage in a complete additive manufacturing workflow. From the programming of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) tools to geometry comparison functions used with scan data, handle all the post-print inspection necessary to validate the final quality of printed parts.
