Improve e-motor efficiency by virtually validating its electro-thermal performances

Traction motor design

At the design stage of an electric motor, once electromagnetic performances have been validated, a seamless model sharing between electromagnetic and thermal solvers is paramount.

Ideally, designers expect various fidelity levels from their EM-TH simulation suite. From empirical or/and CFD based models for detailed thermal analysis - used to derivate cooling requirements from worst thermal scenarios - to system-level capabilities to then integrate equivalent models of the motor in a complete vehicle and compute accurate dynamic thermal losses during transient conditions.

In this webinar, our experts will present scenarios of electromagnetics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer coupling. With a simple setup, the demonstration will show detailed electromagnetic-thermal analysis, which results will be fed back at vehicle level to enable an integrated system-level validation and so achieve a true digital twin.
