Simulation of exhaust aftertreatment
Fossil fuel combustion in both gasoline and diesel engines leads to the production of pollutants released in the atmosphere. Each type of pollutant requires an ad-hoc system, designed to optimize increased efficiency of the emissions reduction strategy and decreased backpressure to improve overall performance.
In this sense, simulation of exhaust aftertreatment is a valuable tool to better understand the complex dynamics and to optimize the whole system.
This webinar will cover new modelling techniques to improve calculations and overall accuracy of the devices. Presenters will demonstrate how computational fluid dynamics (CFD) can enable engineers to better understand the complex interactions of several types of aftertreatment systems such as SCR, DPF and LNT.
