Accelerating process scaling with Simcenter STAR-CCM+

Tempo estimado de exibição: 2 minutos

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is an independent, open access technology and innovation center set up by the UK government to help companies scale up new and novel processes. Operating at the intersection of invention and industry, CPI helps companies take their processes from laboratory-scale to industrially-relevant scales, translating ideas, research and knowledge into commercial businesses.

In this video, Alex Smith, Process Engineering Group Manager at CPI, discusses the crucial role of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation in the scale-up process:

    1. CFD provides a higher level of understanding of what’s going in inside a vessel, beyond what can be measured by single point instruments in pilot and demonstration-scale assets

    2. CFD provides engineers and scientists with much greater detail, for troubleshooting, process characterization and optimization, process scaling, and providing design & operational guidance
