Watch this animation to learn how to make your ship design process future-ready.

The evolution of ship design and engineering

In 1959, the design spiral was introduced to the world of naval architecture. It quickly became the cornerstone of ship design and engineering and is still widely used today, more than 60 years later. However, shipping today is not what it was 60 years ago: ships are tremendously more complex; class rules, environmental and safety regulations are tighter. Yet the ship design process hasn’t changed all that much.

Digitalizing the design spiral

Of course, as new technologies emerged, new tools were adopted, and each step of the design spiral was modernized. Yet, the process itself wasn’t. Watch our new animated video to find out why the design spiral is limited, and how you can future-proof your ship design and engineering process.
