Using Automation Designer integrated with Teamcenter® software you can build and leverage mechatronic templates that link the mechanical and the electrical aspects of automated equipment to easily create the automation design. Easily map the mechanical components to the automation infrastructure of the production system during manufacturing planning – with controllers and inputs and outputs as needed - and manage the software code that controls the automation of the entire production system.
Using Automation Designer, you simply select automation objects in your 3D production system layout, place them into the correct location within the automation design structure, and the correct PLC code is automatically added. In addition to the necessary code, the electrical schematics required to describe the motors, controllers, etc., and their circuit diagrams are included.
The mechanical automation system hardware, with the correct connectivity, is managed in Teamcenter and fully prepared for transfer over to the automation engineering system along with the electrical automation system documentation for the wiring of the factory.
