Innovation and collaborative, synchronized program management for new programs
Global technology leader Siemens and IBM Japan are joining forces to accelerate the growth of Teamcenter® software deployments in Japan – one of the world’s largest PLM economies. Building on their global alliance with IBM in which the two companies can jointly go to market, Siemens’ PLM software business unit has entered into a distributor agreement with IBM Japan Services Company Ltd. (ISC-J), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IBM Japan, enabling them to sell Teamcenter software directly to Japanese companies. This new distributor agreement makes it possible for them to offer their customers and partners a comprehensive Teamcenter software and services deployment.
Both Siemens and IBM Japan support manufacturing companies facing unprecedented globalization issues as they expand their operations, not only in Japan, but also throughout Asia and on a global scale. Through the distributor agreement announced today, Japanese companies can now acquire Teamcenter, the world’s most widely used digital lifecycle management software, directly from the IBM Japan group while also providing access to their highly regarded technical support and service.
"With the enhanced linkage of technology leaders, Siemens and IBM Japan, we appear to be witnessing a new phase of global collaboration and partnering that should result in significant benefits including new innovation to Japanese manufacturers who seek their technology and support," said Satoshi Ezawa, President, MetaLinc K.K, Representative of CIMdata in Japan.
“We are very pleased to further reinforce our strong partnership with IBM Japan,” said Taro Shimada, Vice President, Siemens PLM Software Japan. “Through this partnership, both companies can expand their reach and provide stronger support to help our current and future customers continue to make smarter decisions that result in better products.”
