Real-world considerations for vehicle E/E architecture design
A key challenge in this process is the decomposition of E/E requirements from a high-level multi-domain vehicle model.
Multi-domain modelling at the top level will cover mechanical, E/E, software, thermal and other domains that make up the final vehicle. Engineers can extract E/E aspects from this model to drive the construction and other processes downstream. Engineers concerned with the definition, design, and delivery of modern E/E architectures must balance many interdependent requirements while working to speed up innovation and integrate technology in a cost-effective manner. In this paper, we analyze these interdependent requirements and discuss the need to both plan and check the architecture against rules and guidelines, ultimately ensuring early verification of architectural decisions to meet the demands of the competitive automotive market.
