FEMPLY is a Composite Ply-Based Modelling tool fully integrated into Siemens’ FEMAP Pre/Post-processor offering fast, efficient and simple definition of complex component layups. Making use of FEMAP’s Global Ply capabilities, FEMPLY enables the tabular definition of whole component laminate schedules more closely following manufacturing processes within a simple, intuitive user interface. Multiple plies may be edited in one operation and may be re-mapped onto a new mesh or after mesh refinement. A single definition of Laminate Properties, Failure Theorem and Offsets can be applied all Composite Property sets.

FEMPLY offers FEMAP users a low-cost ply-based modeling solution with fast and efficient handling of complex layups. When used with FEMAP, the product offers a significantly cheaper way into ply-based modeling than alternative products.

The FEMPLY Product range is due to be augmented later in the year by the release of FEMPLY Pro which offers all the benefits of FEMPLY Express with the addition of Ply Draping algorithms and Flat Pattern export.

SDC Verifier

The SDC Verifier or Structural Design Code Verifier is a program to help verify structures in accordance with required building and safety standards.

SDC Verifier already includes predefined standards on fatigue, stiffener and plate buckling, beam member checks, joint checks and weld, such as ANSI/AISC 360-10, API 2A RP, ISO 19902, Norsok N004, DIN15018, Eurocode 3, FEM 1.001, ABS 2004, ABS 2014, DNV RP-C201 2010, DNV CN30/1995. Advanced Report Generation System

The creation of complete structural reports becomes a lot easier with the wizard-based report generation system. The full calculation procedure can be quickly documented with standard reports and fully customized with the “report designer”.

Save all settings in a report profile and the model properties, the complete calculation results, and the different checks can be easily generated or regenerated. Reviewing the effect of design changes has never been easier, just regenerate the report and compare the results.

Last but not least is the “open as a template” function that offers the possibility to re-use the full calculation procedure including the documentation on another Femap model.

RecurDyn

RecurDyn is interdisciplinary, computer-aided engineering (CAE) software package whose primary function is the simulation of Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) of assemblies in motion while offering multi-physics solutions.

RecurDyn is CAE software that is focused on Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) while also offering multi-physics solutions. The RecurDyn technology has superior calculation efficiency because it is based on a recursive formulation. The core is Multi-Flexible Body Dynamics (MFBD) which combines a multibody dynamics solver and a nonlinear finite element method solver at the integrator level. RecurDyn supports other multidisciplinary CAE technologies such as control system modeling and nonlinear system-level optimization. RecurDyn provides the efficiency gains of process automation through a wide variety of application toolkits. Users can create their own custom applications using the bundled ProcessNet environment.

RecurDyn provides a unique MFBD analysis capability that combines MBD with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods in order to simulate moving assemblies of rigid and flexible bodies. The user can determine the detailed dynamic stress and strain within the context of a system-level analysis, including the time-varying inertial forces.

There are two types of flexible bodies that are supported with MFBD. The first type of flexible body (RFlex) is a simplified representation that is based on modal data generated by external FEA software. FFlex flexible bodies are based upon an FE mesh, where all nodal DOFs are retained.

Pro-EMFATIC

Fatigue damage is one of the most common causes of structural failure and can lead to disastrous outcomes. Therefore, the prediction of structural fatigue life is essential in modern product design.

Pro-EMFATIC for Simcenter Femap is a comprehensive fatigue analysis software package built on widely used fatigue calculation methods. P-EF calculates structural life, cumulative fatigue damage, and safety factors. The stress and strain data used for fatigue calculations can be taken directly from Simcenter Femap. The durability results can be stored back into Simcenter Femap and can be displayed using Simcenter Femap post-processing capability. It also provides add-on capabilities that allow users to calculate fatigue results using the test measurements or the analytical values from non-Femap solutions.

ADINA

The ADINA System offers a one-system program for comprehensive finite element analysis of structures, fluids, heat transfer, electromagnetics and multiphysics, all used by one graphical user interface.

The ADINA solver can be used with Simcenter 3D and Femap pre/post, so NX Nastran customers can seamlessly migrate from SOL 601/701 to ADINA without changing their workflow. Many NX Nastran customers have already smoothly migrated from SOL 601/701 to ADINA. These customers are pleased with the smooth migration and the additional solution capabilities now available to them in the ADINA solver.
