PLANO, Texas, June 15, 2011 - Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced the introduction of a new initiative that is being designed to streamline the enrollment and management processes associated with the Siemens Solution Partner Program for companies offering software applications (apps) that work in harmony with Solid Edge® software or Femap™ software, two applications within the Velocity Series™ portfolio of mainstream PLM solutions. This new initiative will establish an “app ecosystem” within the Siemens Solution Partner Program to enhance communication between Siemens PLM Software and its Solid Edge and Femap software development partners, while providing on-line tools for customers that facilitate visibility and access to all partners and their solutions.
“The Solid Edge app ecosystem is another pillar supporting the total solution we offer to our customers and partners,” said John Fox, vice president of Velocity Series Marketing, Siemens PLM Software. “Under the leadership of full time Program Director Mark Burhop, we are building an environment for our Solid Edge and Femap partners and customers that we believe will serve as a model for our industry. By making it easier for companies to enroll and manage their participation in the program we can continue to attract top quality partners to develop innovative applications that complement our own offerings. And by making partner apps more visible and accessible to our customers, it creates a virtuous cycle for the benefit of both groups.”
Two of the most recent partners to join the new program include Cadenas, a leading software manufacturer in strategic parts management and electronic product catalogs, and Striker Systems, a world leader in the development of sheet metal nesting and CAD/CAM software for CNC punching and profile cutting machines.
“As one of the newest companies to join the Siemens Solution Partner Program, we are delighted to participate in the Solid Edge app ecosystem initiative,” said Walter Leder, Vice President, CADENAS GmbH. “Our strategic parts management system, PARTsolutions, helps Solid Edge users effectively and sustainably lower their product development costs. By creating a streamlined partner environment for companies like ours who are targeting the Solid Edge user community, Siemens PLM Software is making it much easier for us to participate in the program and for the end user to find and benefit from our solutions.”
“We decided to partner with Siemens PLM Software because of the expanding interest in our sheet metal nesting and CAD/CAM solutions operating more seamlessly with Solid Edge,” states Michael Boggs, Striker Systems Sales Manager. “We’ve been very impressed with the responsiveness of Siemens PLM Software. They worked with us every step of the way to ensure all our questions were answered throughout the enrollment process. We are very encouraged by the enhancements Siemens PLM Software is making with the new app ecosystem.”
