BEIJING, China — UGS, a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced that XJ Group Corporation, a leading provider of power system automation, relay protection and control equipment, selected UGS’ Teamcenter™ software, the de facto standard for PLM, to play a critical role in raising its competitiveness. The company expects to increase revenue by 100 percent over the next six years as a result of the Teamcenter implementation by shortening time-to-market, improving product quality and reducing costs.
Teamcenter extends the value of XJ’s existing applications, including ERP, CAD and other software, by seamlessly linking these applications to the extended enterprise. The Teamcenter implementation spans from R&D to engineering, providing transparency on overall project status to improve XJ’s ability to innovate and increase productivity. As a result, the company estimates its revenues will reach RMB8.6 billion by 2010 from RMB4 billion in 2004, a 100 percent increase in six years.
“Our relationship with UGS helps us leverage experience from foreign countries’ best practices and strengthen our corporation’s position as the leader in the China power system industry,” commented Wang Jinian, president of XJ Group Corporation. “Through implementing Teamcenter solutions, we expect to streamline our R&D and operational processes, leading to an increase in competitiveness. Our objective is to surpass our global competitors, which we are confident we will achieve in the near future.”
Since its establishment in 1996, XJ has formed an efficient and flexible structure to meet changing market needs. In the process, the company has transformed itself from a traditional mechanical processing corporation to the leading high tech electronics company in China.
PLM is an increasingly important enterprise business strategy through which organizations digitally manage a product’s complete lifecycle, all the way from conception to its retirement -- and gain higher business value from that product as a result.

Teamcenter is the de facto standard for PLM, delivering modular, out-of-the-box solutions to fit every company’s PLM vision.
