PLANO, Texas– UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services,today announced the winners of its Q4 2005 Solid Edge® software computer-aided design (CAD) contest.
Solid Edge promotes mechanical design excellence by users of 3D solid modeling technology.Winning products were designed and rendered using Solid Edge technology. Solid Edge is the CAD component of the new UGS Velocity Series™ portfolio, the industry’s first comprehensive, preconfigured portfolio of digital product design, analysis, and data management software for the PLM mid-market. Top honors include a dental chair, sales retail checkout system, finishing system for wood-based, plastic, underground water storage tank machine and a precision control valve.
Top honors in EMEA went to Bruno Pozzi of Cefla Group SCRL (Italy), a corporate entity with four businesses: fixtures and fittings, wood-based finishing systems, dental equipment and civil /industrial plants. Pozzi submitted three designs, including a dental chair used sold under the brand name Stern Weber, a sales retail checkout system under the brand name Cefle Arredamenti, and a finishing system for wood-based, plastic and non-ferrous material products. www.cefla.it
Top honors in Asia Pacific went to Luke Troja of Linpac Rotational Mouldings (Australia), a manufacturer specializing in the rotational molding process. Troja used Solid Edge to design a machine set up for a rotomolded underground water storage tank. www.linpac.com.au
Top honors in the Americas went to Wayne Hall of Badger Meter (Tulsa, OK), a trusted leader in industrial low flow control and measurement products.
