Innovazione e gestione dei programmi sincronizzata e collaborativa per i nuovi programmi
FOR RELEASE Wednesday, August 17, 2005
PLANO, Texas – UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced Tekla Corporation, of Espoo, Finland, has integrated and released the D-Cubed 2D Dimensional Constraint Manager (2D DCM) from UGS PLM Components into Tekla Structures 11.0, its flagship structural design solution for the construction industry.
D-Cubed’s 2D DCM component – the leading choice for constraint-based sketching in computer-aided design, manufacturing and analysis applications – has been integrated into Tekla Structures, a comprehensive tool for structural design. The 2D DCM extends the steel detailing functionality to further increase project quality and productivity for Tekla customers.
“Tekla chose the 2D DCM to help us more rapidly achieve our strategic goal of realizing growth in the structural engineering field by delivering better value to customers with Tekla Structures” said Risto Räty, executive vice president, Building & Construction at Tekla.
The 2D DCM enables designers to quickly create and modify sketches using a wide range of geometric dimensions and constraints. Implementing the 2D DCM enables software vendors such as Tekla to rapidly provide their customers with advanced, industry-standard sketching capabilities without needing to allocate substantial development resources.
“Tekla’s implementation of the 2D DCM reflects the growing appeal of constraint-based sketching beyond the traditional Mechanical CAD user base, bringing productivity enhancements to new domains, such as the AEC industry.” said Bruce Feldt, vice president of Open Tools for UGS. “We are very pleased to be supporting Tekla with additional tools for developing the capabilities of its structural design software.”
