4 examples demonstrating multi-domain applications with a single tire model

Tire models for vehicle dynamics must meet the highest demands regarding model accuracy and predictive analytics. The variety of system targets, platforms, tools, and maneuver tests makes it extremely complex for OEMs to define unified re-usable tire models. As a result, multiple test and parameterization processes often run in parallel for different applications.

During this webinar, we present a methodology that combines multi-domain applications within one single tire model and unified parameterization. The Simcenter solution delivers models that are fit-for-purpose and ensures an optimal balance between accuracy and cost.

In cooperation with leading passenger car OEMs, we demonstrate 4 application examples of the tire testing and parameterization method:

  • ABS braking – to cost-efficiently identify the tire transient response
  • Low-friction ESC controller tuning – to perform accurate low-friction tire tests
  • Extreme handling – to define the optimal balance between model accuracy level and the number of tire tests under combined slip conditions
  • Parking – to extend a regular tire model for low-speed maneuvering

If the required tire model parameter is known, the Simcenter Tire Model Marketplace offers an online platform with close to 100 predefined and validated parameter sets for a variety of applications, such as the on-road slip characteristic. Downloading these tire models, enables you to considerably reduce costs and throughput-time.
