Introducing Teamcenter to Chinese markets

Zhejiang Connor Industry Software Co., Ltd. (Connor) is based in the Zhejiang province of China and helps clients with their digital transformation and product lifecycle management (PLM) implementation projects. Connor serves the automotive and transportation industry with plans to expand globally and improve China’s intelligent manufacturing capabilities.

The company specializes in Teamcenter® software, which is part of the Siemens Xcelerator business platform of software, hardware and services. Connor leverages Teamcenter for documentation, bills-of-materials (BOM) management and service lifecycle management while helping customers overcome complex challenges across all project stages. They also use it to address project management inefficiencies, design stage errors and anticipate and respond to business changes. As a result, Connor has reduced the customer's development costs and improved their productivity and quality.

Siemens recognizes partners that exemplify advanced expertise and competency in a Siemens solution or industry, ultimately demonstrating their superior business and technical acumen. Achieving Siemens’ Expert Partner status provided Connor with the training they needed to adapt to the changing demands of their clients. Customers today focus on how industry leaders use information technology (IT) systems, so they evaluate a variety of successful implementation cases when selecting a partner. The training Connor garnered with the specialization initiative also helped increase their deep technical knowledge of the software and solutions they offer, building trust among their customers.

“Siemens’ Expert Partner initiative helps us increase competitiveness in the market and enhance customer confidence because we are recognized by Siemens as experts,” states Ms Liu Hui, chairperson of Connor. “Our team’s knowledge and skills must be constantly updated to keep up with the rapid evolution of the business environment and new technologies,” continues Xing Weichao, managing director of Connor. “We appreciate Siemens for offering a path to become a learning-oriented company.”

Guiding customers through digital transformation

Zhejiang Shibao Co., Ltd. faced inefficiencies related to data management, cross-departmental design collaboration and project management. This prevented their team’s ability to address increased research and development (R&D) pressure imposed by sales growth. Connor used its industry knowledge to analyze the digitalization progress among Shibao’s competitors. It compared Shibao’s performance in various business scenario simulations with benchmark competitors and recommended Teamcenter to improve product lifecycle visibility and cross-departmental collaboration. The analysis also revealed future digitalization requirements Conner could use to develop a clear and actionable blueprint for the next stages.

Having greater visibility during the development process enabled Shibao to reduce development costs by 10 percent and increase productivity by 10 percent. Additionally, advances in cross-departmental design using Teamcenter enabled Shibao to increase product quality by 40 percent and reduce development time by 40 percent. These metrics help Connor build credibility, strong relationships and an admirable reputation in their markets.

An eye on the future

Connor plans to use Siemens comprehensive digital twin technology to help customers achieve their potential with digital product design processes from model creation to prototype manufacturing. “Partnering with Siemens enabled us to expand our competitive advantage by leveraging advanced specialization expertise to guide our customers through their digital transformation,” claims Jiang Tao, managing director of Connor. “With our partnership with Siemens, we can make progress together and create a promising future,” continues Hui. The company will continue to be a trusted advisor for clients requiring assistance with equipment and production management, as well as simulation to optimize production efficiency and capacity.
