A key issue that Nancal has faced while promoting PLM technologies is the late adoption of digital systems among system operators. Nancal recognized its customers’ lack of understanding in smart manufacturing and digital transformation. Nancal created a specialized services team dedicated to resolving efficiency issues with PLM and computer-aided design (CAD) software to improve customer support.
Nancal partnered with Siemens to create a digitalization blueprint for its joint customer, a large global military industry manufacturer. Together they provided support to integrate sophisticated software such as Teamcenter and Opcenter across all of its manufacturing lines. Using NX and the design and manufacturing management resources available in Teamcenter and Opcenter, including improved 3D model-based definition (MBD) tools, helped streamlined their customers’ R&D process. This resulted in R&D efficiency gains of over 40 percent.
The customer previously relied on offline and 2D CAD for its product design, which resulted in inefficient and unmanageable research and development processes. Nancal’s plan used a data-driven architecture that improved product R&D and manufacturing capabilities. Thanks to this approach, Nancal earned Siemens Global Top Partner Award in 2021 and positive recognition from clients throughout the Chinese domestic markets.
Nancal plans to continue strengthening its services and leverage the Xcelerator portfolio to further expand their capabilities. They also plan to harness comprehensive digital twin technology to support customers to improve R&D, manufacturing and delivery capabilities. The goal is to enable customers to deliver competitive, high-quality products efficiently without raising costs.
