Explore IndustryDesigning optimal battery thermal management using system simulation
Designing optimal battery thermal management using system simulation
Keeping the xEV battery cells temperature at the right level thanks to system simulation
The battery system is an essential element for the success of electrified vehicles and their broader democratization. Design teams must consider the system as a whole and create an optimal balance between safety, reliability, lifetime, and performance while focusing on thermal management. Increasing power demands and fast charging put batteries under thermal stress, thus requiring maintaining battery cell temperatures within a very restricted range, whatever the environmental or operational conditions. Designing the most appropriate battery thermal management system while keeping costs, time, and competitive edge under control requires new engineering methodologies where simulation plays an important role.
In this webinar, our experts will introduce a multi-physics system simulation approach that can support the design of efficient battery thermal management systems. Learn how to leverage detailed information on the battery temperature for various cell technologies and for different transient scenarios.
During this 40-minute session, we’ll introduce our solutions to:
Lionel Broglia
Business Development Manager, Siemens Digital Industries Software
Lionel is Business Development Manager for System simulation activities, focusing on the electrification ground transportation. He has a master's degree in mechanical engineering and is involved in multi-domain system simulation since 1999.
Benoit Honel
Product Manager Electrification, Siemens Digital Industries Software
In his role, Benoit focuses on aligning the Simcenter Amesim product features with the customers accelerating vehicle electrification challenges. He has a master's degree in thermodynamic engineering and has been involved in multi-domain system simulation since 1995.
