Innovación y gestión de programas colaborativa y sincronizada para nuevos programas
Siemens today announced the launch of a new online store that will help customers easily search for, compare and purchase partner developed apps for Solid Edge® software. The new Solid Edge App Marketplace℠ mobile app will provide a one-stop shop for add-on solutions that extend the capabilities of Solid Edge, to help customers further enhance productivity. The new Solid Edge App Marketplace will help partners extend sales efforts by bringing apps directly to customers. Solid Edge is developed by Siemens’ product lifecycle management (PLM) business.
The open architecture of Solid Edge gives partners easy access to a robust product development platform on which to create innovative apps that support the user community. Providing partners with an online marketplace helps them enhance product awareness and increase sales capacity, freeing up resources to focus on development.
“The Solid Edge App Marketplace should create an exciting opportunity for both customers and partners,” said Michelle Boucher, Vice President, Tech-Clarity, Inc. “Innovative features enabled by apps allow customers to choose how they want to extend their use of Solid Edge technology. Embodying a modern online shopping experience, the Solid Edge App Marketplace connects customers and partners, reducing the cost of doing business. This means partners can stay focused on developing great apps. Overall, this announcement strengthens the value of being part of the Solid Edge community.”
“Siemens is committed to creating a network of partners for Solid Edge who represent the leading technologies in their fields, as well as to providing an open, extensible architecture that supports rapid development,” said John Miller, Senior Vice President, Mainstream Engineering, Siemens PLM Software. “The new Solid Edge App Marketplace will help provide our customers and partners a strong return on their PLM investment through a strategy of helping partners develop and sell, and customers find and start using the products that help enhance productivity and realize innovation.”
The Solid Edge App Marketplace allows customers to instantly find complementary partner apps to meet their specific needs. Customers will be able to research and compare a variety of apps, select the one that best meets their requirements and purchase the app online to start realizing value right away. With the new marketplace, Siemens continues to help customers extend their product development capabilities with a powerful and accessible 3D design portfolio.
“The addition of a Solid Edge App Marketplace enables us to offer our low-cost Publisher3D PDF product directly to companies already using Solid Edge for CAD design,” said Brian Roberts, President, QuadriSpace Corporation. “While we will still sell our full range of technical publishing products through Siemens’ reseller partners using traditional channels, the Solid Edge App Marketplace is a perfect match for our entry-level 3D PDF solution. The marketplace provides immediate value in helping customers of all sizes to easily understand what complementary applications are available for improving their product development process.”
