That’s why Teamcenter® product lifecycle management (PLM) has Microsoft document management and embedded Office applications, so documents can be created and edited with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint®. You can search for product data; create, edit, check-in, check-out, and submit documents; and participate in workflows directly from your Office applications, for example sign-off on reviews from Outlook. With specialized Teamcenter applications, you can edit bills of materials (BOMs) with Excel® and create requirements documents with Word.

Because you know how to use Office, for most users there is no learning curve to use PLM and no formal training required. With Office Online access, people can access Teamcenter anywhere, any time and on any device.

Documents in Teamcenter are available to groups, roles, and programs as needed. As critical business objects, documents can be managed by revisions, edits, and release status, as well as workflows. Markup managers support team and management review, and you can sort and disposition reviewers text and graphic comments directly in Teamcenter using the web client, Active Workspace, as well as retain that disposition for a record of the resulting edits, as the document develops.
Teamcenter provides multiple Microsoft Office integrations, to help manage Microsoft documents and best suit how you use Microsoft Office. For occasional users or quick edits, Teamcenter Office Online allows view and edit of Microsoft Office files without a local install of Microsoft Office. When traditional editing is required, use Teamcenter Office Client, which lets you search and navigate Teamcenter content, create new files and open, edit, and save them directly to Teamcenter, all from within Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
