Siemens Digital Industries Software Press Release Page
Kineo CAM today announced that Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, a leading manufacturer of multidimensional metrology solutions, has integrated its software libraries into CALIGO software.
CALIGO is the new measuring software specially developed for car body parts and freeform surfaces. Its modular system architecture offers a high degree of flexibility for the requirements of the future. The combination of Carl Zeiss tools with KineoWorks™ automatic path planning technology and KCD™ collision detector allows for collision-free trajectory creation, significantly reducing the time required for the user to define a safe and quick path.
Kineo CAM has granted a worldwide commercial licence to Carl Zeiss Industrielle Messtechnik GmbH which belongs to the Industrial Metrology Group of the Carl Zeiss Group who has now integrated Kineo CAM’s path planning technology into the simulation module of CALIGO.
This integration with CALIGO will set a new dimension of productivity and usability of CMM software capabilities. Extensive simulation functionality to easily optimize programs using tools such as collision control, travel path track and collision ball is one the major capabilities of CALIGO.
“This agreement with Carl Zeiss makes us proud and enthusiastic” said Laurent Maniscalco, CEO of Kineo CAM. “Proud to provide a brand such as Carl Zeiss with our software component and enthusiastic to see it’s a good complementarity with commercial 3D solvers when fast collision detections are required by the end-user application. This opens a new market window and we expect to continuously improve our software technology with Carl Zeiss.”
Kineo Computer Aided Motion “Kineo CAM” is the independent software developer of the leading technology for Automatic Motion and Path Planning, KineoWorks™.
Being focused on the development of unmatched efficient solutions, Kineo CAM addresses large companies and institutions in the United States, Europe and Japan.
Kineo CAM’s main market is PLM. In this area, the large range of solutions, from stand-alone to fully integrated software, enables digital mock-up users to save money and time in Product Design (validation of mechanical mounting/dismounting) and Process (simulation of operations in cluttered 3D environments). Kineo CAM benefited from a 15-year research legacy from the French public research Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture System “LAAS-CNRS”.
This press release was published by Kineo CAM prior to Siemens PLM Software acquiring the company on October 8, 2012.
