SAN FRANCISCO – UGS, a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced its corporate Web site, www.ugs.com, has passed the 1 million visitors milestone since its launch in May.
In addition, in October www.ugs.com:
· Hosted a record 300,331 user sessions, an increase of 112 percent since its launch in May. October represented the third consecutive month the site has set a new record for user sessions.
· Recorded an average per-visitor length-of-stay of 6.48 minutes, an increase of 54 percent since its launch in May.
“As UGS and the PLM industry as a whole continue to increase in visibility, we continue to see more interest in people seeking out information about our company via our Web site,” said Joslyn Taylor, director of online marketing communications for UGS, who is scheduled to speak today at a BtoB Magazine NetMarketing event focusing on real-world experiences of business-to-business marketers using the Internet. “Our objective has been to create a world-class, dynamic environment for these visitors that brings both UGS and the emerging PLM industry to life. We think we’ve done that, and we continue to raise the bar on ourselves every day.”
UGS launched its independent Web site in May in conjunction with its launch of operations as an independent software business following the closing of its acquisition from EDS by a private equity group of Bain Capital, Silver Lake Partners and Warburg Pincus. The company retained the services of global interactive marketing agency, AKQA, to design and help launch the site.
UGS delivers integrated technology and services supporting the entire lifecycle of a product – from concept and development to distribution and service. The global market for PLM software and services is expected to grow by a compound annual growth rate of 8 percent through 2007 to more than US$9.2 billion, according to Daratech. Through 2007, Daratech expects the product data management and collaboration segment of the PLM market, which UGS leads on the strength of its Teamcenter® portfolio, to grow 16 percent, compounded annually.
