Create and Link Work Items together to create deep granular relationships and to perform impact analysis. Work Item Link rules are the semantics for traceability and describe how two or more linked items relate to one another. With Polarion, it is possible to employ any variation of semantic linkages to reflect any business processes. With relation to the software development lifecycle Polarion has the ability to:
An exclusive Polarion innovation, Polarion LiveDoc web documents are online documents such as requirements or test specifications; that are contextually aware of artifacts and their contents, making every single paragraph uniquely identifiable and traceable.
Polarion LiveDocs allow you to leverage the full capabilities of the Polarion platform, workflow automation, and version control, to manage documentation throughout the entire lifecycle, enabling you to collaborate with all stakeholders concurrently and securely, making sure content is always available as an easy to use, easy to understand, and easy to work with document.
Polarion can support the formal document review and sign-off process for specifications and other types of documents using secure electronic signatures compliant with U.S. 21 CFR Part 11. A Polarion administrator can map your review and sign-off process to the Document workflow configuration where each step in the process can optionally be set up to require one or more electronic signatures before the Document can move to the next stage in the workflow.
Document workflow signatures let you control parallel workflow transitions (i.e. enable status transition only if specified stakeholders sign the transition).
In you participate in the supply chain – no matter on what side – you likely need to exchange requirements. To do so, Polarion supports ReqIF round-trip (Import/export) natively without any additional plugins. The ReqIF (Requirements Interchange Format) open native standard is an XML file format that can be used to exchange requirements, along with its associated metadata with suppliers and OEM providers. ReqIF round-trip means that Polarion data can be imported into 3rd party requirements platform such as IBM DOORS and exported from DOORS back into Polarion.
Document “Round-Trip” capabilities enable you to seamlessly export documents and import changes made outside of the Polarion platform while preserving your original formatting. You can easily import existing assets using the rule-based import wizard. It recognizes artifacts such as requirements, test cases, defects and other items contained in Microsoft Word or Excel files and quickly imports them into the modern Polarion browser based platform.
Polarion's export capabilities also allow for documents to be exported as DOC, XLS, PDF, XML or HTML format.
