PLANO, Texas – UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced that Gartner, Inc., a leading technology research and advisory firm, has listed UGS in the leaders quadrant of its “Magic Quadrant for Product Life Cycle Management, 3Q06” report. The “PLM Magic Quadrant” graphically portrays PLM vendor’s based on a thorough evaluation of a company’s vision and its ability to execute. Gartner published the “Magic Quadrant for Product Lifecycle Management, 3Q06” on Sept. 29, 2006.
“We are gratified that Gartner placed UGS in the leaders quadrant in the PLM industry,” said Tony Affuso, chairman, CEO and president, UGS. “We believe this report echoes what we are hearing from our customers and underscores the importance of our mantra to ‘Never Let a Customer Fail.’”
According to Gartner, Inc., leaders are vendors who are performing well today and have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market. The evaluation process involved the assessment of companies’ viability; the features and functions of their products; the service and support available after products are sold; and their core technology. In addition, Gartner considered each firm’s ability to support the entire lifecycle process, including the areas of strategy, planning, management and execution.
