PLANO, Texas -- UGS PLM Solutions, the product lifecycle management (PLM) subsid iary of EDS, today announced the selection of its Solid Edge® computer-aided design (CAD) software by Victor Taichung Machinery Works Co. Ltd., the largest Taiwanese machine tools builder based in Taichung, Taiwan. Victor Taichung licensed 60 seats of Solid Edge as the first step to replace its 2D and existing mainstream 3D system. The company plans to implement as many a s 60 additional licenses of Solid Edge in the next two phases of its migration t o 3D solid modeling. Solid Edge will be the sole standardized CAD tool within t he research and development department to design machine tool and accessories in the next five years.
