Digital simulation tools have gained acceptance in the marine sector over recent years, but their application is still generally disconnected, with little crossover between different design teams or the software they use. Connecting these tools gives much greater understanding of ship performance and can lead to significant design improvements.
In this webinar, Wärtsilä propulsion shows how using connected Simcenter portfolio products allows easy system simulation. This enables them to perform full ship system performance analysis and find optimal fuel consumption for different operating scenarios. This new method provides increased accuracy by linking results from 1-dimensional and 3-dimensional simulations, and shows that a full ship digital twin is closer than you think
