Innovation and collaborative, synchronized program management for new programs
MILAN, Italy, September 11, 2012 – Siemens PLM Software today announced that Dallan S.p.A., a leading provider of world-class roll forming machines and lines, selected two of its product lifecycle management (PLM) software solutions for deployment across the entire Dallan enterprise. Dallan will use Teamcenter® software, the world’s most widely used digital lifecycle management system, and NX™ software, a leading integrated solution for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE), to meet its overarching goal of streamlining its complete design and development process.
Following a thorough evaluation process that involved several leading PLM technology providers, Dallan selected Siemens PLM Software for its ability to converge product design data from numerous PLM providers on a single, open platform across its entire enterprise. By using one platform for PLM, Dallan is specifically focused on reducing time-to-market, improving design decision making, optimizing assets, and enhancing product development processes.
“The need to connect the four strategic units of the company led us to Siemens PLM Software’s solutions, which we consider best-in-class,” said Andrea Dallan, sales director for Dallan. “Now we can reduce the time needed for data conversion, editing and validation of projects, expand expert knowledge across our entire company, and provide our senior management access to business-critical information in real-time, giving them the opportunity to make timely, informed decisions.
“As one of the leading PLM suppliers to the global machinery industry, we are delighted that our technology is being adopted by an industry leader like Dallan,” said Franco Megali, vice president for Italian operations, Siemens PLM Software. “Dallan’s simplified corporate structure enables a quick and streamlined implementation, allowing more time for us to work with Dallan on their future innovation efforts and delivering a solution that facilitates smarter decisions that lead to better products.”
For more than 30 years Dallan has designed and built world-class roll forming machines and lines for premium finished metal products out of coils between 0.2 – 2 millimeters thick. Drawing on years of experience, Dallan operates worldwide across more than 70 countries and serves as a benchmark for machines and plants producing metal sections and profiles for applications such as interior finishes, entry systems, sun shading and energy-saving technologies, air handling and warehouse logistics. Dallan also produces special plants for manufacturing bespoke sections and profiles, offering expertise in handling delicate and prefinished materials, such as pre-painted and plastic-coated coil.
