In its Market Trends & Statistics Folio I -- Mechanical Edition publication, Daratech identifies EDS PLM Solutions as the market share leader of the global PLM software and services market based on 2001 market statistics.
"One of EDS' primary competitive advantages is its integrated set of end-to-end solutions addressing the entire lifecycle of engineered products," said Bruce Jenkins, executive vice-president, Daratech, Inc. "From requir ements capture, geometry development, digital mockup, digital prototyping and simulation, through digital manufacturing -- all under world-class process and data management -- the scope and scale of its offerings under-gird its formidable presence in the PLM industry."

Through its PLM Solutions line of business, EDS now offers the world's most comprehensive suite of PLM software and services. It is the only company with collaborative offerings in all significant areas of the market: product development, manufacturing planning, product data management, collaborative commerce, expert services and consulting. EDS' PLM strategy is focused on achieving new levels of efficiency and innovation for manufacturing companies and on meeting the needs of their respective customers. Core to this strategy is a philosophy of open technology and open business relationships that will set the industry standard for PLM.
"We are extremely proud to be the market share leader in product lifecycle management," said Tony Affuso, president, EDS PLM Solutions. "It is particularly gratifying to be recognized by Daratech, one of our industry's most respected analysts. By focusing everyday on our clients' needs and our ongoing R&D investment we will continue to work to maintain the clients' respect and industry leadership."
