D-Cubed's 2D DCM, 3D DCM and HLM are included in SmartPlant 3D from Intergraph Corporation

FOR RELEASE Tuesday, February 3, 2004

D-Cubed, a leading supplier of software components to CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM application developers, and Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore, announce the release of D-Cubed’s 2D DCM, 3D DCM and HLM components in Intergraph’s SmartPlant 3D product.

SmartPlant 3D, Intergraph’s next generation plant design application, offers companies the first fully comprehensive multidisciplinary plant modelling system in a single, unified environment, comprising one tool for all major engineering disciplines, including construction. SmartPlant 3D translates advanced functionality, usability and work process improvement concepts into tangible business benefits to shorten schedules, boost productivity and increase engineering quality. These benefits are enabled by breakthroughs in usability, database architecture, rules-based design, global work-sharing, design task and drawing automation, real-time clash detection and operating plant support.

The 2D Dimensional Constraint Manager (2D DCM) allows powerful variational sketching to be used in a range of situations within the core design systems of SmartPlant 3D.

The 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (3D DCM) provides the assembly constraints in the hanger support and equipment environments of SmartPlant 3D. The 3D DCM provides a powerful set of tools to control the positioning and automatic repositioning of parts during the plant design process.

The Hidden Line Manager (HLM), D-Cubed’s fast and accurate hidden line solution, is also included in SmartPlant 3D. This integration allows SmartPlant 3D end-users to rapidly create precise engineering drawings from huge plant assembly models.

Vice President 3D Solutions, Bob Jones, Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore, said, "The
D-Cubed components help contribute to SmartPlant 3D as the most advanced plant design technology offered by any vendor in the last two decades".

"The strategic deployment of our software components enables Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore to offer their customers both high quality technology and value”, said John Owen, Managing Director of D Cubed. "SmartPlant 3D takes plant design to the next level, with
D-Cubed’s solutions contributing to its ability to dynamically enforce design standards, automate routine design tasks and automatically generate engineering drawings".

About D-Cubed Ltd.
Founded in 1989 in Cambridge, England, D-Cubed provides software components and technical consulting services to the CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM application development industry in all areas of geometric, solid and variational/parametric modelling. Most of the world’s leading CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM vendors have adopted one or more of D-Cubed’s widely respected component technologies for integration into their end-user applications. We have never developed, and do not intend to develop, our own end-user applications. This focus avoids any competitive conflicts of interest with our customers.
