Innovation and collaborative, synchronized program management for new programs
FOR RELEASE Friday, February 10, 2006
PLANO, Texas, and COLOGNE, Germany – UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced that Mubea, a leading worldwide operating spring manufacturer, has ordered more than 100 licenses of Teamcenter™ Express software.
Teamcenter Express is the product data management (PDM) component of the new UGS Velocity Series™ portfolio, the first comprehensive, preconfigured portfolio of digital product design, analysis and data management software for the PLM market.
After a two-year, intensive evaluation of several PDM solutions, Mubea was close to selecting a competitive system until UGS announced the launch of its UGS Velocity Series in September 2005. Following a quick review, Mubea chose Teamcenter Express because of its superior integration with Solid Edge™ software, its leading functionality and its relationship with the reseller, ISAP AG.
“We were looking for a powerful and easy-to-use PLM solution,” said Carl Bartels, vice manager, Central Unit Tool Manufacturing Europe, Mubea. “Teamcenter Express convinced us with its seamless Solid Edge integration and its powerful multi-site and multi-CAD capabilities. We are pleased to have UGS as the single supplier for both CAD and PDM software as well as single, local support for both from ISAP.”
“Our good relationship with Mubea and a PDM tool directly targeted at mid-market needs were key to this contract,” said Herbert Kleinewiese, management board member, ISAP AG. “We were able to provide Mubea a clear roadmap of how Teamcenter Express will help them to improve their overall product development process.”
“ISAP’s expertise in data management coupled with our robust, easy-to-use Teamcenter Express product created a winning combination for Mubea,” Kerry Grimes, vice president, Mid Market and Global Channel Sales, UGS. “The timing of our product launch and ISAP’s response time were critical to Mubea’s decision.”
