Siemens Digital Industries Software Geometric Constraint Solver
A geometric constraint solver is asoftware component that solves dimensions and constraints to specify and preserve the location of geometric features in 2D or 3D designs. In computer-aided design (CAD), geometric constraint solvers enable rapid design improvements in both parametric history-based modeling and variational direct modeling.
2D geometric constraint solvers enable rapid sketch modifications by changing dimension values, or dragging geometry. 2D solvers can work “on-the-fly” during freehand sketching to accurately define geometric relationships. This speeds transition of rough concepts into CAD-compatible drawings. 3D geometric constraint solvers help control part shape, enable assembly part-positioning and 3D pipe/wire routing.
