Sound Quality Metrics Seminar

Due to rising concerns about the threat of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), we have decided to cancel the upcoming Sound Quality Metrics Seminar on March 17, 2020 at the University of Kentucky.

At Siemens, the health of our customers, employees and other stakeholders is our top priority. Siemens has global and US-specific task forces continuously monitoring the impact of 2019-nCoV. We are evaluating all new developments and determining measures to protect the health of our customers, employees and communities in accordance with the guidance of international and national authorities. In light of this, we made the decision to cancel all events during the month of March and curtail commercial travel for our employees.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, yet we are convinced acting in an abundance of caution to prioritize the safety and health of our customers, employees and communities is the right decision for all those involved in the event.

For any questions or further assistance, please contact us directly at info.plm@siemens.com.

Sound quality isn’t just for “gurus” anymore! You are cordially invited to the “Sound Metrics Unleashed!” seminar taking place March 17, 2020 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

This interactive seminar, full of practical examples and interesting sounds, will answer questions like:

  • Why doesn’t the decibel level “dB” match my subjective impressions of the sound?
  • What are all the different sound metrics (loudness, roughness, tonality, etc) and how are they useful?
  • What is the best metric to use to describe the sound I am hearing?
  • How do I reduce the sound metric to a single, meaningful number?

Lunch is provided and the seminar is no cost to attend.
