Solid Edge SP provides easy vaulting and retrieval of Solid Edge files and related design data, along with a visual approach to managing linked documents, product structures and projects. Design teams can easily access the data they need and are immediately aware of design changes that are in progress. Solid Edge SP also simplifies and automates everyday design processes, such as new product introduction and engineering changes.

Improved Collaboration between Your Departments

Solid Edge SP is based on Microsoft SharePoint®, a leading collaboration platform that is already deployed by many manufacturing organizations to manage technical data across several departments. Solid Edge SP also provides electronic engineering change request (ECR) and engineering change order (ECO) workflow management for consistent completion of critical engineering tasks that require input from users in multiple departments.

Improved Collaboration with Suppliers and Customers

Solid Edge with synchronous technology allows data from other computer-aided design (CAD) applications to be imported and directly edited, enabling you to rapidly incorporate third party design intelligence into your design process.

Suppliers and customers can also use either of two no-cost, downloadable tools for viewing Solid Edge documents. Solid Edge Viewer enables viewing of Solid Edge documents even if Solid Edge is not loaded. XpresReview enables viewing, analyzing and markup of Solid Edge parts, assemblies and drawings, so that design reviews are completed quickly and accurately.

Improved Collaboration with Teamcenter

The Solid Edge Embedded Client (SEEC) enables design information created in Solid Edge to be captured, controlled and shared in the product lifecycle management (PLM) and product data management (PDM) environments of Teamcenter and Teamcenter Rapid Start.

SEEC’s capabilities go beyond workgroup CAD data management, enabling design teams at different locations and suppliers across your supply chain to leverage multi-site collaboration and streamline your product development process.
