Enterprise and Government

Parasolid is the perfect tool for in-house applications that capture specific expertise in a specialist domain relating to geometry and modeling. For example, aerospace companies typically have in-house systems to model and analyze the aerodynamic performance of wing designs. Similarly, tire companies have in-house systems to analyze vibration and water dispersal behavior of tread patterns. These systems often capture many years of domain expertise and give the company a competitive advantage from functionality that is not available in commercial systems.

However, such systems can be very costly to maintain and enhance because internal staff must develop reliable modeling algorithms to support the domain specific algorithms without offsetting costs via commercial sales. In this instance, licensing a full set of robust, high performance geometric functionality has a double advantage:

  • At a relatively low cost, Parasolid provides geometric algorithms developed with several hundred man years of investment with feedback from millions of user hours to hone their quality and performance.
  • After a relatively short transition period, a large proportion of the in-house development team can focus on the domain specific algorithms that add value to the application.

The Parasolid Technical Support team has considerable experience in helping with Parasolid application integration in a wide range of domains based on a large variety of in-house technologies. We would like to give specific examples, but the very nature of these applications means that customers usually prefer not to have them discussed publicly or even to reveal that they have licensed Parasolid. We can assure you that we will respect such requests at all times.
