Product and manufacturing information (PMI) is used in 3D CAD and product development systems to convey design information for manufacturing. PMI includes information such as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), text annotations, surface finish and material specifications.

NX 3D annotation capability is fully compliant with international standards for 3D part definition, including the ASME, ISO and JEITA standards. Re-Use Product and Manufacturing Information

By associating PMI with the 3D model, NX promotes re-use throughout the product lifecycle. NX PMI is fully re-usable in NX drafting, and integrated with Siemens applications for validation, variation analysis, NC machining and inspection programming. PMI annotations are also viewable in JT format-enabled viewers to enhance collaboration.
