Leading the Digitalization Transformation in the Heavy Equipment Industry
Date: June 13-14, 2018
Location: Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII), 1415 N Cherry Avenue, Chicago, IL
Today’s Heavy Equipment manufacturers are faced with new challenges resulting from operating in a world of smart connected products where entire markets can vanish with a single new innovation. Leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT) from product utilization into product ideation is crucial to help anticipate the next set of Heavy Equipment innovations and disruptions.
New manufacturing concepts like virtual verification and validation for autonomous vehicles, electrification and the electromechanical design process and the effects of alternative materials on global manufacturing strategies can have a huge impact on the realization phase of innovation. To truly achieve smart innovation, Heavy Equipment manufacturers must weave a digital thread through ideation, realization and utilization processes, also known as digitalization. With a fully optimized “Digital Enterprise” manufacturers are better equipped to initiate or respond to disruptive innovation.
The Siemens PLM Software Heavy Equipment Steering Committee is an invitation only platform for ongoing strategic discussions on topics affecting the global Heavy Equipment business. By bringing industry leaders together to gain customer perspectives and combining those perspectives with industry intelligence we expect all that participate will have a greater understanding of customer priorities on key transformational business processes and key business drivers.
