Advanced Simulation to Solve & Optimize Process Development Problems

Yield, Energy & Throughput (YET) analytics is considered to be one of the three advanced analytics based tools for improving profitability and boosting productivity in chemical & process manufacturing (McKinsey & Co., Feb 2018).

Simcenter, from Siemens PLM software, provides engineering simulation to directly address the factors affecting Yield, Energy and Throughput by helping companies optimize process efficiency and energy consumption. Simcenter is part of the broad suite of best practice-driven software solutions from Siemens PLM software that facilitates supply chain collaboration in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of process industry assets.

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and particle modeling with Discrete Element Method (DEM) have been successfully used to build “performance Digital Twins” capable of providing the level of insight and understanding required to reduce operating costs across manufacturing and quality divisions. These simulations also provide solutions to many of the challenges that surround scale-up and troubleshooting.

If you would like to see examples of the benefits of deploying simulation in the chemical process, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, please join us for a complimentary workshop, where we’ll discuss and demonstrate how CFD and DEM can be applied to multiple aspects of process development, including fluid flow and hydrodynamic behavior in stirred vessels, dispersing gas and solids, behavior of high viscosity fluids, fluid structure interactions etc.

We will also present methods of optimizing the performance of various equipment used in a process and how simulation can aid this work.

Who Should Attend?

If you are an engineer or a manager who wants to troubleshoot problems or employ Quality by Design initiatives, this event will help you understand the applicability of deploying simulation to achieve these objectives.

If you are already using CFD in your engineering work flow, this session will demonstrate the strength of Simcenter STAR-CCM+® meshing, workflow and the latest physics models for some of the most challenging problems in the industry.
