Siemens PLM Software świętuje dziesiątą rocznicę sponsoringu w projekcie FIRST

Siemens PLM Software z dumą sponsoruje trzy drużyny w konkursie FIRST (For Inspiration in Science and Technology) Robotics Competition. W projekcie inżynierowie firmy sponsorującej oraz przedstawiciele lokalnych szkół mają za zadanie zaprojektowanie oraz zbudowanie robota, który uczestniczy w emocjonujących zawodach gromadzących 2000 drużyn z całego świata. Projekt generuje emocje typowe dla wydarzenia sportowego jednocześnie wprowadzając uczniów szkół średnich w tajniki sztuki inżynierskiej. Szczegółowe warunki uczestnictwa w konkursie w roku 2007 zostaną ogłoszone w styczniu. Zespoły będą miały sześć tygodni na zaprojektowanie i budowę robotów. Początek konkursu zaplanowano na marzec.

Team 158 with Siemens PLM Software and Live Oaks in Milford, Ohio just celebrated ten continuous years in the FIRST competition, thanks to the dedicated involvement of Siemens PLM Software engineers. The veteran status of being one of the oldest teams is shown by the low team number. Students use Solid Edge to model parts and assemble the robot mechanisms.

Siemens PLM Software also supports award-winning Team 469 with International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and Team 1985 with Hazelwood Central High School in Florissant, Missouri. Team 469 has the distinction of winning awards in every year of the team’s six year history, including first place in last year’s Detroit Regional competition. Siemens PLM Software support grows this year with “rookie” Team 1985, entering into the St. Louis Regional competition. Good luck to all these teams!
