Paul Sicking is senior vice president of the Central Technology Office (CTO) for Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division. He and his team are responsible for providing shared platform, architecture, innovation and development services.
Sicking first joined the company in 1976 when it was a division of McDonnell Douglas Automation Company (McAuto), later known as Unigraphics Solutions and now Siemens PLM Software. He began his career as a programmer, and in subsequent years moved into numerous technical and managerial positions within the company’s R&D organization.
His responsibilities have included a wide variety of assignments across product suites, particularly in the areas of finite element modeling, visualization, graphical user interface, programming toolkits, assembly modeling, data management, and system architecture. Sicking has also worked extensively with colleagues in other Siemens business units throughout the world to identify opportunities for collaboration. Previously based in St. Louis, Missouri and Cambridge, England he is now working in Siemens PLM Software’s Cypress, California office.
Sicking received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Missouri University of Science & Technology (formerly University of Missouri – Rolla).
In his spare time he enjoys competitive handball, cycling, hiking, and anything involving his granddaughters. Sicking lives in southern California with his wife, Janet, and daughter Alison.
