Employee Q & A

Could you provide a description of your job?

I support an exceptional group of highly technical people which, in and of itself, affords me with knowledge and experience I can use daily. From supporting the Sr. Vice President/CIO of IT and his team; reconciling our 2005 capital budget; facilitating the hiring process of new employees/contractors; scheduling travel; and serving as a key administrative contact for the group are just some of the daily operations.

How long have you been at Siemens PLM Software?

8 years.

Has your role changed much since you started? If so, how?

I began my career with Siemens PLM Software as an Administrative Assistant in 1997. I was hired to support the Financial Planning and Tax Department. Seven years later, although my position and the organization has changed, my role provides me with an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse group of people who care about adding value to the Corporation and have been outstanding mentors/coaches during my time with the company.

What is your typical day like?

I wish I could say organized, but it isn’t. There are always “need it now requests” that keep my day busy.

What is most challenging about your position?

Fulfilling last minute requests.

What are your favorite things about Siemens PLM Software?

Siemens PLM Software offers many programs and events for their employees. The opportunities to develop and broaden your skills are always available through our Siemens PLM Software University and off-site training classes. The Job Shadowing Program, Milford HS DECA Program and Adopt-a-Family are a few of the many events I enjoy in the Cincinnati office.

What's your typical work uniform?

Business casual

What’s the first thing you do after getting in?

Open e-mail and check voice mail messages.

If you could give your job a new title what would it be?

Multi-tasking Admin

Anything hanging on your bulletin board today?

A Siemens PLM Software Payroll and Vacation schedule, a picture of the Plano office and a picture of a hippo hanging from a cliff with a rhino trying to pull him up.  In the next clip, the rhino realizes that he cannot pull the hippo from the cliff and puts a boulder on his nose.  Moral of picture – Friends may not be able to PULL you up…but THEY will still think of ways not to let you FALL.

How do you get creative juices flowing?

Knowing I have deadlines to meet.

What do you like to do outside the office?

I enjoy walking and reading. I also visit and offer assistance to a few elderly ladies in my neighborhood. My family adds joy and keeps me grounded.
