Ben, Productor Web

Employee Q & A

As a lead producer for the Siemens PLM Software website, Ben helps keep this site up and running, not to mention useful and interesting. He manages current pages, develops new designs and works closely with internal clients to produce more site content. In his two years at Siemens PLM Software, he's helped the site grow and at the same time, found the company has given him room to grow professionally.

What's on your desk right now?

A crossword puzzle. Computer books. Spilled coffee. Framed photographs: one from Venice, Italy, the other a close up of my dog's face (taken w/ macro lens). Lots of notes and scribbles.

What is your typical day like?

Caffeine mornings. Once at work, I get to contribute to a variety of projects, ranging from newsletter production to events, graphic and interactive design, as well as content updates. There are always a lot of balls in the air, and I have learned to prioritize and use my talents in the most worthwhile pursuits.

What are your typical work hours?

It's 8:30 - 5:30 on most days. I usually hop online for a little while in the evening, too.

What is most challenging about your position?

Siemens PLM Software's product lines run very deep. There's an inundating amount of information that I am still trying to learn about our software products. As much as there is to learn, I feel like I am gaining an understanding and appreciation for what Siemens PLM Software offers.

If you could give yourself a new title what would it be?

Web Geek

What are your favorite things about Siemens PLM Software?

Even at a company with over 5,000 employees spread throughout the world, I still feel like I'm part of the team. Every colleague I interact with treats me with respect and courtesy.

Along with this team comes the coach. I have a wonderful mentor who constantly pushes me to stretch my limits and come up with innovative ideas. I have probably learned more about design in the last nine months than I have in the last two years.

What do you like to do outside the office?

I enjoy running, playing volleyball, hanging out with my friends and family, going to shows and taking extended-weekend road trips. I also have a few friends that like to get together to write and record music.
