Released March 2007
D-Cubed announces the latest release of its Profile Geometry Manager (PGM), the component that adds extra productivity tools to 2D DCM-based sketchers. New functionality specific to version 51.0 is listed below. A full product description can be found here.
A key capability of the PGM is the creation and management of offset profiles comprising any type of 2D geometry including NURBS curves. Of major significance is the tight interaction of the PGM with a 2D DCM sketch, where dimensions and constraints can be applied freely to any geometry in the profile, including the offset geometry. Subsequent modifications to the dimensioning scheme result in automatic updates of the offset profile with correct trimming and capping of the offset geometry.
Version 51 introduces new functionality and enhances reliability and performance with offset profiles. Highlights include:

The Profile Geometry Manager (PGM) enhances the productivity of 2D DCM based applications, enabling a range of advanced variational sketching operations. This is achieved by working directly with higher level geometric data structures and automatically handling a wide range of design changes. Examples including offsetting loops whilst inserting, extending and trimming edges as required, or adding constraints to loops rather than to individual edges.
D-Cubed software is part of the PLM Components suite of solutions and represents a family of geometric software components that enable key functionality in CAD, CAM, CAE, and PLM applications, including sketching, part and assembly modeling, motion simulation, collision detection, clearance measurement and hidden-line visualization.
